Family Violence Prevention
Nearly one-quarter of all violent crimes in Canada are committed by a family member of the victim. It happens when someone tries to control another by using threats, intimidation or physical, psychological, spiritual, financial or sexual abuse.Violence within the home tears families apart and leaves many victims, including innocent children. Many people believe domestic violence is a "family matter", best dealt with behind closed doors. But, the issue of family violence is too serious for people to continue looking the other way. We need to take action.

Carstairs FCSS (Community Resource Centre) is pleased to offer the following links and files for your convenience. Please help us spread the message that family violence is everyone's business and it won't be tolerated!

Vision 4 Non-Violence in Carstairs & Didsbury
In 2008, Carstairs Community Resource Centre became involved with Didsbury FCSS to work on a program called Vision 4 Non-Violence.You may not be aware that the CCRC has also been actively involved in preventing family violence through education and service provision since 2008. The Town's FCSS departments and other human service providers of Carstairs and Didsbury called this project "Vision 4 Non-Violence". The intention of this partnership is to facilitate a community action plan to raise awareness of Family Violence, address family violence service gaps in community, and so much more.

Please click here to learn more about this program, then call 403-337-2633 to help us raise awareness.
